How it works

DriveWaypoints is neither a roadbook nor turn-by-turn navigation — and certainly not a speed contest. It is an event system built on checkpoints and time windows: the organiser decides the destinations and the times, you find your own way there.

As a participant

1

Enter the code

You get a code from the organiser. Enter it in the app and see the whole drive right away — banner, description, every milestone and time. You can even view the drive before you create an account.

2

Drive your own route

On the day, the app shows the next milestone and your time window — for example "arrival 12:00 ± 30 min". One tap opens Apple or Google Maps. Motorway or back roads? That is up to you.

3

Check in — and move on

At the milestone you check in with a single tap (while parked — or let the co-driver do it). The next milestone unlocks. Afterwards the day's light-hearted leaderboard is waiting.

As an organiser

1

Build the drive on the web

Create the event in the portal: title, banner and milestones. Type an address — we find the coordinates. The timeline warns you if your time windows do not add up.

2

Share one code

Every event gets a unique code and a shareable link with a QR code for printing. Email, Facebook group or notice board — the participants take care of the rest themselves.

3

Overview on the day

Live dashboard: who has checked in where, who is running behind. Send a message to everyone ("lunch moves by 30 minutes") — delivered straight as a notification.

The time window — the heart of it all

Every milestone has an arrival time ± a number of minutes. Hit the window and you are "on schedule" — miss it and… nothing happens. No penalty, no stress. Time windows keep the convoy together without turning the drive into a race. That is the whole idea.
